BSPS SCOTTISH MEMBERS RESULTS

Scotland has had many good results in competitions in the past with members competing in many classes and team events that the BSPS hold.  Below are some of the results:

A huge well done to all our members placed at HOYS especially Carly Brewster in the 153cm WHP winning such an elite class.   Well Done.

Order It Online Accumulator

The BSPS hold a competition every year known as the Order It Online Accumulator Championship where members collect points at BSPS Affiliated shows that do not have RIHS or HOYS qualification in any BSPS classes.  These points are added up at the end and the one with the most points wins their section.  There are four sections Section 1 Show Pony/Intermediate.  Section 2 SHP/Intermediate. Section 3 WHP/Intermediate and Section 4 Heritage Mountain & Moorland.  The first place from each section wins a sash and an MP3 Player.  The Champion is the one with the most points overall and receives a flower sash and a Lap Top Computer.

Scotland has done exceedingly well in this competition where:-

In 2008 Zoe-Martella Nicoll with her 138cm Show Pony Willowhill Forget-Me-Not won the Show Pony section with Julie Bankier coming 2nd with Cosford Perilla. Julie Bankier won the SHP section with Bronheulog Charmer and Melissa McCluskey was 2nd with Trelawn Kingfisher.  Zoe-Martella Nicoll had gained the most points overall to take the championship receiving a flowered sash, a fabulous Lap Top computer and an MP3 Player.

In 2007 Jill Slight with her 133cm SHP Mount Pleasant Stardust won the SHP Section and  Zoe-Martella Nicoll with her 138cm Show Pony won the Show Pony section with Julie Bankier and her First Ridden pony Cosford Perilla coming a close 2nd.  Jill Slight had gained the most points overall and won the Championship receiving a flower sash and a Lap Top Computer.

In 2006 Julie Bankier with her Lead Rein pony Dinsdale Sweet Harmony won the Show Pony section, Fiona Reeds Intermediate WHP Jemima Puddledub won the WHP section and Carmen Gammie with her First Ridden M&M won the Heritage section.  Julie Bankier had gained the most points overall and won the Championship receiving a flower sash and a Lap Top Computer

We would also like to mention that Caraway Kingcup a pony bred by Scottish breeder Karen Slight and previously owned by Scottish members won the SHP section in 2006.

Some of our members qualified for the RIHS at Hickstead with many getting placed in their classes.  Two of our members did especially well:-  Nikki Melville with Defalogue Rhiannon won the 133cm WHP and Melissa McCluskey with Rhos Virtuoso won the Part Bred Arab 148cm and under class and the Championship.  A great result for Scotland.

Scottish Schools Combined Training Event

Our younger BSPS members did exceptionally well at the Scottish Schools Combined Training Event which was held at Gleneagles on Sunday 20th April. There was a huge turnout of entries , and in the 12 years and under , both the overall individual sections were won by members - Ashleigh Warnock on her new pony which she has only had for four weeks which is a tremendous achievement , and Harry Waterston on Penmarric Miss Moppet . Jessica Tinson finished second in her section on Lord of The Manor and Madeleine Tinson also did well on her new pony Bunbury Czar . James Whiteford jumped a lovely clear round on his pony Pik n Mix and was on the third placed Loretto Team , and Nicky Melville also did a super round on Defalogue Rhiannon as a member of the second placed St Georges Team .

The BSPS members were a real credit to the Soceity in their turnout , style and perhaps , most importantly , their behaviour throughout the long event - a huge ' well done ' to everyone involved .

Some of our members attended the Winter Champs and braved the cold, wind, rain and snow!!  Even though the weather was unkind many members attained great results....

SCOTTISH WHP INTERNATIONAL 2007

Scottish BSPS was host to the BSPS International Working Hunter Teams Event which was held at the SNEC, Oatridge in August 2007.  The Scottish Teams were placed 4th and 5th.

Team ponies were Wedderlie Marmion, Allandale Fair Cameo, Pebbly Paintbox, It's Otto, Meiklekim's Secret, Rockwood Dundoolie, Ruby Slippers, Kian's Choice, Porter Lady and Fearless Freddie.

YOUNG JUDGES 2007

BSPS Scotland sent  Victoria Harvie to represent Scotland in the Young Judges competition at the Summer Championships Show.    This competition is run either as a Team Event or an Individual Event. Victoria entered the Individual Event and had to compete against other competitors from all the BSPS Areas fighting off fierce competition from both male and female members.  We are pleased to announce that Victoria WON this competition, a great achievement for herself and for Scotland too.  Another good judge in the making for the BSPS!

Scotland sent an Inter Country WHP Team to the Summer Championships Show to compete against the English, Welsh and Overseas Teams.  Our Team consisted of Stuart Sloan, Sarah Dudgeon, Kendal Banks-Brown and Hannah Sloan.  They did us extremely proud coming 3rd Overall.

Scotland also sent Scottish Teams for the Division Competitions.  The Show Pony Team consisting of Melissa McCluskey, Julie Bankier, Laura Findlay and Zoe-Martella Nicoll came Third overall.  A hugh achievement for the Scottish.  Well done girls!!
